As the NSPCC Celebrates 30 years of children’s charity Childline, they have just announced Cheryl Fernandez-Versini as the new face of the charity in a powerful and emotive advert. They hope that her profile can bring more awareness to such a vitally needed service to help children suffering from abuse.

The charity’s founder Esther Rantzen said:

“Having someone of Cheryl’s profile who millions of young people admire is one of the best birthday presents Childline could hope for. We are really excited at the awareness that Cheryl will bring to the service, and in particular how she will enable us to reach out to even more desperately unhappy young people with nowhere else to turn.

She fully understands the new dangers young people face today such as sexting and cyber-bullying.

The reality is that whatever the age or the problem Childline is a free, confidential helpline for any young person – a message that Cheryl will help us take to a whole new audience now that she has joined the team.”

Legends know they can use their public profiles for good because of the awareness they can bring. Children look up to role models and many of those can have a huge impact on their beliefs. Having someone like Cheryl to front this campaign can only be a good thing. Watch the video below…

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama welcomed to the White House on Monday scores of superheroes and princesses, a Prince, and a youngster who dressed up as the president himself, grey hair and all! Take a look at the video below where the boy appears at the end, but also be sure to check out Mr & Mrs Obama’s dancing to Michael Jackson’s Thriller!
