You may or may not have heard of the Brazillian football legends Carlos Alberto but he was one of the greatest players to ever captain Brazil. He was widely regarded as one of the best defenders of all time. Sadly he passed away on Tuesday at the age of 72 and tributes have poured in from legends of the game. While he had flaws, he was a true master of the beautiful game:

Parenting Breakthroughs For Autism

Around 1% of children and young people are affected by autism which can be particularly challenging for their families as they grow up. The results of a study published this week has, however, revealed a potential breakthrough in supporting children who suffer from the condition. Rather than using medication or therapy with the children directly, the focus of the research was on the impact that improving the parents’ ability to interact with their preschool children would have.
The researchers who designed the study were actually surprised with how successful the approach proved to be! It means that there is a potential to help millions of families with this form of supporting children who would otherwise grow up feeling extremely frustrated because of difficulties expressing themselves. What this reveals is the positive impact that parents’ willingness to grow and develop can have on their children. For more on this, here’s the article in the Guardian.
