What It Takes To Become The Richest Man In The World | Hillary Clinton Recognises She Appears ‘Cold’ | Tweets of The Week! – Legends Report

On Wednesday this week, Forbes announced that Amancio Ortega became the richest man in the world, overtaking Bill Gates. Mr Ortega is the Spanish founder of the high street retail chain ‘Zara’ and his company Inditex owns several other up market brand names. The secret to Mr Ortega’s success doesn’t rely on the amount of advertising that he does, but rather in making sure that his companies are the most efficient and effective retailers in the world. As an example, the design systems that Zara uses could make new clothing lines in 3 weeks, when other companies would take 6 months. A huge competitive advantage!
Legends know that to be successful you have to work ‘from the inside-out’. In this case, Mr Ortega has been focusing on getting his own companies to work effectively rather than focus on advertising and work from the outside-in.

The Forbes article draws in interesting comparison with Bill Gates, stating that if Mr Gates had not contributed so heavily to philanthropic causes, he would be worth an extra $31 billion and no-one else would be even close to that level of wealth.

Have you ever been misunderstood by other people? Have you ever made a snap judgement about someone else, which later turns out to be wrong?
U.S. Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has empathised with people who perceive her as ‘cold’ or ‘unemotional’ and has explained that this is the result of learning to control her emotions at a young age.
“I know that I can be perceived as aloof or cold or unemotional. But I had to learn as a young woman to control my emotions. And that’s a hard path to walk. Because you need to protect yourself, you need to keep steady, but at the same time you don’t want to seem ‘walled off.'”
Explains Mrs Clinton, who had to learn this lesson while waiting for a law school admissions exam. Taunts aimed at her and her female school friends such as; “You don’t need to be here” and “there’s plenty else you can do” were designed to affect her emotionally so that she would fail the entrance exam.
What legends have learnt is a high degree of control of their emotions, so that they can choose what they want to feel at any given time. Especially in high-stress situations like exams, court rooms and the presidential campaign trail.
