You know that you’ve made it when you can stand up on stage and on camera and tell oscar winner Meryl Streep to “back off” with a big smile on your face!
It’s unlikely you wouldn’t have heard of James Corden by now as he’s fast becoming a big star of comedy and TV on both sides of the Atlantic. The man who made his name in the UK on the hit TV sitcom, Gavin & Stacey, has since gone on to make a name for himself in America, hosting the Late Late Show on CBS that includes his very popular segment, Carpool Karaoke. His decision to make the move to the US was a risk that really paid off and in this video, he thanks the very special person in his life who stood by his side and encouraged him to take his opportunity and “give it a shot”! Awwww…
Going after our dreams is scary and daunting for all of us, but dreams were never made to come easily, which is why they mean so much. Stepping out of our comfort zones to reach for that extraordinary goal is also something too many people sadly never end up doing. It can take leaps of faith at times, which is a very vulnerable place to be and why it’s so valuable to have people around us who genuinely want us to succeed and will stand by us, in victory or defeat.
It’s the people who will challenge us and question our fears and insecurities because they see who we’re capable of becoming that can make all the difference in reaching our highest potential. If you have someone like that in your life, treasure them dearly. If you don’t, you need to go out and find them, because they’re probably looking for you too!
