David Beckham’s Message of Unity | Jo Cox’s Birthday Celebrated Worldwide | Mozart Lowers Blood Pressure – Legends Report

By Sukh Singh, Associate Partner & Mentorship Coach, Lighthouse International

When he first entered the public eye as a footballer, many mocked David Beckham for his soft-spoken nature and simple words. But often underneath the quiet men and women is a lot of deep thought, care and foresight. Here is a very measured message from Mr Beckham on his feelings about the impending referendum on Britain’s choice to stay or leave the European Union…

There’s a big difference between having your own opinion and forcing your opinion on others. Mr Beckham respects that people will have their own opinions, while he’s giving a very measured account of unity and working together rather than creating barriers.

MP Jo Cox’s Birthday Honoured Worldwide

Today, across the world, thousands of people will be honouring one woman who stood for peace, for unity and a better world. She not only spoke about those things, but she spent her life tirelessly working for them. It is incredible how, through one act of hate and ignorance, her death has brought so many people together who otherwise would not be uniting. It is an incredible testament to the power of the human spirit. As her family have stated;

“Our gift to her, her family and all those who loved and cherished her, will be to come together to show the world there is more that unites us than divides us… The coming together of thousands of people in love and solidarity with Jo proves the strength of her ideas and values… Supporters will come together to celebrate what Jo’s warmth, love, energy, passion, flair, Yorkshire heritage and belief in the humanity of every person in every place, from Batley and Spen to Aleppo and Darayya.”

You may already use music to relax or get yourself pumped up for a workout, but now scientists have even more proof to help as you go through the days and weeks…

“It has been known for centuries that music has an effect on human beings. In antiquity, music was used to improve performance in athletes during the Olympic Games,

In our study, listening to classical music resulted in lowered blood pressure and heart rate. These drops in blood pressure were clearly expressed for the music of Mozart and Strauss.”

– Lead author Hans-Joachim Trappe, of Ruhr University, Germany.

The studies have shown that listening to Mozart can lower the blood pressure as much as regular exercise. Keeping our bodies renewed, rejuvenated and in a calm state helps us in moments of stress, chaos and pressure. Legends work hard at keeping cool under pressure, they know they can’t afford to work themselves to death!
