Pokémon Go’s Impact on a Father’s Life | Apple Hubris Slows Apple TV | Top Tweets of The Week – Legends Report

Millions of people around the world are hunting down creatures with their phones, which you’ll either absolutely love, or think is totally insane. In either case, if you want to achieve a goal, get fitter, build better relationships in your life, there’s actually a great secret here that Sam Clark, who claims to have caught all of the Pokémon, can share with us…

1. He had a powerful driving reason to get active and fit…

“It’s been fantastic; I’ve taken about four inches off my waist – I can barely fit into the same jeans. It has helped me lose two stone – something I had been struggling with.”

2. It’s brought his family closer…

“The game is a great excuse to take the kids out to the park – the social aspect of the game is absolutely amazing.”

So why is this so important? Mr Clark is showing us one of the biggest factors of achieving any goal…this is a man who had been trying to lose weight for nearly ten years. He needed a powerful, compelling, enjoyable reason to do it – and he did it. It’s what differentiates boring work from play – when you really, really, really want to do something and it gives you a sense of meaning, purpose and value, you do it. Without that, it’s boring.

Apple Hubris Slows Apple TV

By Tom Hasker, Associate Partner & Mentorship Coach, Lighthouse International

Apple Senior Vice President Eddy Cue has had his business negotiating style described as “…we’re Apple” by former Time Warner executives while negotiating new Apple TV services. Mr Cue has been reported as arriving late to negotiation meetings, such as with Time Warner CEO Jeff Beweks, wearing jeans, no socks and a Hawaiian shirt, while expecting the content provider to agree terms in Apple’s favour.

According to Business Insider;

One Time Warner executive “kept looking at the Apple guys like: ‘Do you have any idea how this industry works?’”

When we look to build relationships with other people for business or personal reasons, the first step is adopting the outlook of win-win or no deal. What is fair for you and what is fair for us at the same time? Legends know that showing respect is essential to building meaningful and long lasting relationships. They do that through their deeds, words, appearance and following through on the promises they make.
